MECO to build vapour compression desal plants

4 January 2012

Texas-based MECO will design and construct two vapour compression (VC) desalination plants for an oilfield off the Indian coast. Two MECO 1250M3C VC desalination plants, which supply 115 m³/d each, will be used for the production of drinking and process water in the Mumbai High oilfield located in the Arabian Sea approximately 160km west of Mumbai. The company also just recently won an order for two reverse-osmosis trains to supply 392 m³/d of drinking and process water to an oil and gas company off Russia's Sakhalin Island.
